MATTEO THUN
the sherry netherlands
The name of Matteo Thun's glass series refers to the famous New York restaurant the Sherry Netherlands.
The incredibly fragile-looking glass is blown in front of the lamp and is much more robust than it seems. The showpiece of the collection is the bouquet for 6 flowers, with which Thun has redefined the theme of the tulip vase, but is also suitable for other long-stemmed flowers.
The water and wine glasses with their more reserved shapes take a back seat to the champagne glasses, which are reminiscent of the classic Murano goblets; Thun has found very minimalist yet sophisticated forms for vinegar and oil, salt and pepper.
